Forensics Class
This is my first year taking forensics and so far i am enjoying the class. Ms. Bartoli is a cool and funny teacher that keeps the class interesting at times. We have been taught the steps needed to process a crime scene and who secures the scene. We learned about different search methods like the strip or line search, the spiral search method, the grid method, quadrant or zone search, elevation zone search and the overlapping zone search. We also was taught how to collect evidence and the different packaging materials used to collect evidence. We was told about an autopsy and how to perform one and why you should perform one and the different levels of one. You can determine the time of death with 3 types of mortis: Livor mortis, the process that the body's blood supply stops moving after the heart stops pumping. Rigor mortis, stiffening of the body after death (usually begins 2 hours after death) and the Algor mortis which is the reduction of the body temperature after death. And what we last learned was the life cycle stages of a blowfly. And that is why i like my Forensics class so far.
