I am very passionate about graduating this year. I feel like it is taking forever too get to June 25th and I just can't wait for it too finally arrive. I've been in school for about 13 years and in Thurgood Marshall academy for about 6 years. I'm ready too get up out of here! I will miss my fellow seniors a lot and hopefully stay in touch with them. I will also miss some teachers and faculty. This might be random but I'm also very passionate about music. I enjoy listening to music because of the way it makes me feel. When I'm down it lifts me up and I listen to it anywhere I'm at and everywhere I go. Also , music can bring people together and make friendships (sometimes).

This past weekend me and my senior class went on our senior trip. We all paid $375 and too me it was worth the money, just wish we stayed another day or two. We went to Virginia for 3 days and 2 nights, stayed in hotels and went to 2 amusement parks ,Busch gardens and Kings dominion. The Thursday we left the ride to Virginia took about 5 or 6 hours. Before we got there we went to a buffet called "Old Country" and the food was decent. Once we finally got to the hotel we got our rooms assigned to us and got settled in. The first night we went to the pool and they also had a Jacuzzi tub. The second day we got up early and got ready to go to Busch gardens and I was so excited because I never been there. When we arrived at Busch gardens we got our tickets and went off in our own groups. We went on rides called "the lochness monster", " The griffon " and more. For my first time being there I had a good time. Later on that day we went to Golden corral, another place I've never been too. All the food there was delicious and it hit the spot. After that we got back on the road and went back to the hotel rooms and had a little pizza party that same night. The next day we had to pack our bags and board them on the bus because we were sadly leaving. That same morning we went to some place called "Astronomical pancakes" and you could imagine how big those pancakes were. We then got back on the road and headed to Kings dominion (another place I haven't been too). This amusement park had way more roller coasters but we had less time in the park. Even though I got stuck on a roller coaster I had a good time. After we left Kings dominion we got on the bus and headed home. I wish the trip could've been longer and I kind of miss it already.

Last week Tuesday on April 21st , we took a school trip to BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music) to finally perform a scene from " A midsummer night's dream" by William Shakespeare and watch other schools perform their own scenes. I was excited to see how my classmates would do but one thing was missing.... Our Demetrius!! Ms.hegeman went around and searched and couldnt find him. She then eventually asked me too fill the role and i gladly accepted. When we got there we played the game yosemite , rehearsed one more time and then ate some pizza (wasn't very warm). I sorta had some butterflies but I was more than ready. When we were going out on the stage , I looked up and saw hundreds of people in the crowd and got a lil stage fright, it was a good thing my group did not go first. After seeing the first group go and do a great job that just boost my confidence and I wanted to do even better. When our performance was done , we received a big round of applause and gave the crowd a bow. I felt relieved that it was over with and that me and my group did a great job .

Today we went to a Senior Conference and I found it very informative. It was in the Abyssinian baptist church, the church where we will be graduating in. Once we got there we had a little breakfast and then we sat and heard a speech from Justice Milton A. Tingling, The county clerk of New York county and clerk of the supreme Court. He spoke to us about registering to vote and Police awareness. Afterwards, we went to our first activity and that was the "Interviewing Skills" workshop held by André Hooks, a representative at Wood Tobé- Coburn School. He basically taught us how to prepare for an interview. Next workshop we went too was a Motivational/ Consciousness workshop and had a session on "Finding your identity in college" held by Kevin Chen a Sophomore at Columbia University. We basically talked about how our identities shape our transition into college and post high school life. The last workshop we went too was a Co-Ed Sexual Education workshop held by Shawn Watkins and Ana Marin. The whole conference was very interesting and I enjoyed it.

I found class very interesting today. W.T showed up today and whenever he comes i think students are more involved and more active, especially when we play the game Yosemite. That game is very interactive and you have too be a good listener. After the game we usually find out a activity to do involving the book "Midsummer Night's Dream ". Today we had too pick a scene from the book and act it out but with no movements so everyone else had too guess which scene it was. I was surprised that everyone got a scene ready and we were able to guess it correctly. W.T also showed us how too be in control of a scene and make it seem as real as possible without even touching one another. For example, he had one of us make it look like we were pullin his hair, one where it made it look like we pushed him on the floor and another one where we "Slapped" him. We then tried what we learned on one another and it was an success. We will be seeing W.T three times this week and i can't wait for the next meeting.

This year is going by really fast. One day I was excited to be a senior now all of a sudden we are 3 months from graduating. I feel this has been one of my best years in high school. I've been getting my work done and staying out of trouble. My mother and sister are proud of my grades and so am I. Even though we are spending a lot of money for Senior dues and other things it has been a real productive year. Other than that the cold weather has been getting on my nerves and i cant wait till it gets nice outside so we can start playing ball in St. Nicholas Park or go to Riverbank State Park. Since it's been cold I've been trying to find some gyms to play ball in and that never works out because every body and they mother try to come. Besides that I kinda can't wait for college too come so I can get out the house and live on my own. It will take more responsibilities but i think im ready for the challenge. I also heard college can be "Four of the best years of your life" which is another reason why im so estatic.

Class Related
Throughout the past week or two, we've been reading "Midsummer Night's Dream" by William Shakespeare. I would have too say that's it's a pretty decent read (so far). The language is kinda confusing but sooner or later we'll get used to it. It is supposed to be a comedy play believed to have been written between 1590 and 1596. It portrays the events surrounding the marriage of the Duke of Athens, Theseus, and Hippolyta. These include the adventures of four young Athenian lovers and a group of six amateur actors who are controlled and manipulated by the fairies who inhabit the forest, which is what ms.hegeman told us. But as of right now we're nowhere near that part. We are at the part where Hermia and Helena argue. They argue because Helena is convinced Hermia, her closest and oldest friend, is “…one of this confederacy…” to mock her. They are also arguing because Hermia is convinced Helena is scorning her by refusing Lysander’s love after somehow managing to make him fall in love with her (Helena) and, hence, out of love with herself (Hermia). Hopefully we read more and get too the "funny" parts
